Farm Fresh

Yesterday I got to work on a project that I have been wanting to do for awhile ;-) I LOVE big signs, especially big wooden ones that are free to make!!!

So I went outside to my junk/stash pile and grabbed 3 leftover cedar boards from a fencing project...

I sanded them down a bit to remove splinters, dirt, and rabbit hair (the junk pile is right next to the rabbit cage)...

I then screwed the boards together using 3 small wooden stakes...

Next, I went to work on my letters. I free-handed them and used chalk to make them stand out against the cedar. After that I paint in the letters with white paint and after it was all dry, I took my sander to it once more.

The finished sign! It measures 6' x 17''. I can't wait to show you where I put it...not bad for zero dollars :-)

  2. Wow! I am inspired. I have piles of that stuff (sans rabbit hair) and I have always wondered what cute thing I could do with it. I am so on this project. Love, love, love it! Lisa~

  3. The rabbit hair cracks me up. I swear, I've never painted anything that doesn't have at least one hair from my black bull mastiff. It just floats thru the air, no matter what I do!

The sign is darling! Would love for you to stop by this weekend and link up to Passion for Paint.
